Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director to lead our global Product Engineering and Quality organization. This role combines technical depth in networking systems with strategic leadership in product development and quality management. The Senior Director will drive end-to-end product success—from hardware architecture definition and technology evaluation to QA strategy, release governance, and customer escalation handling—ensuring our Ethernet Switching and Wireless AP solutions meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction. In addition, this leader will serve as the Taiwan Site Leader for the Netgear Enterprise Business Unit, representing the company at the regional level while ensuring alignment with global objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1.Global Leadership & Strategy

- Lead, mentor, and manage globally distributed product engineering and QA teams across the US and Taiwan.

- Serve as the Taiwan Site Leader for the Netgear Enterprise Business Unit, providing on-the-ground leadership and alignment with corporate direction.

- Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

- Develop long-term strategic roadmaps for both product development and quality assurance functions.

2.Product Engineering & Hardware Architecture

- Define hardware architecture, features, and requirements for Ethernet Switching and Wireless AP products.

- Research and evaluate emerging technologies (BRCM, RLTK, network processors, switching chipsets) for integration into new platforms.

- Provide technical leadership to internal teams and ODM partners throughout the full product development lifecycle.

- Oversee system-level application validation and performance testing on Switch Products and ProAV solutions.

3.Quality Assurance & Release Management

- Own the QA strategy: from requirement analysis and test planning to execution and release management.

- Establish and maintain a continuous testing framework with resources strategically allocated across regions and labs.

- Define, track, and report on quality metrics to drive continuous product improvement.

- Serve as the final authority on “go/no-go” product release decisions based on comprehensive quality and risk assessments.

4.Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Act as the central point of contact for product engineering and quality, ensuring seamless communication across R&D, PLM, SE, and Customer Support.

- Lead root cause analysis and resolution for critical customer field escalations, ensuring fast turnaround and robust corrective actions.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience: 20+ years in enterprise networking product development, with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles managing product engineering or QA teams.

- Technical Expertise:

• Deep knowledge of Ethernet Switching, Wireless AP, L2/L3 protocols, and enterprise networking architectures.

• Hands-on experience with BRCM/RLTK platforms, embedded systems, RTOS (Linux/VxWorks), and C programming.

• Familiarity with bootloaders, device drivers, and hardware/software integration.

- Product Engineering & QA: Proven success leading end-to-end product lifecycles, with a strong background in both hardware architecture and quality governance.

- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated success in managing global, cross-functional teams and serving as a site leader for a major business unit.

- Problem-Solving: Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills for both lab and customer environments.

- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical, business, and executive audiences. Excellent English verbal and written skills.

- Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science required; Master’s preferred.
