It is not widely advertised, but LinkedIn have a system they refer to as their ‘Social Selling Index’, which ranks every user on four scales:

  • Professional brand
  • Insights engagement
  • Finding people
  • Relationship building

Here’s an example of the dashboard they use to sum all of that up to an overall score (which is out of 100):

Here’s how LinkedIn say you can grow each of these:

  • Professional brand: “Complete your profile with the customer in mind. Become a thought-leader by publishing meaningful posts.”
  • Find the right people: “Identify better prospects in less time using efficient search and research tools.”
  • Engage with insights: Discover and share conversation-worthy updates to create and grow relationships.
  • Build relationships: Strengthen your network by finding and establishing trust with decision makers.

Of course, if you read through all of the above, these are all about using LinkedIn more, or providing more quality content, but useful nonetheless.

You can view the full info for your own profile directly on LinkedIn.
